The Moon will spend 131 days out of bounds, 35.8% of the year.
The Moon will remain out of bounds for an average period of 116 hours (4.8 days) two to three times per month.
The shortest duration the Moon will spend out of bounds in 2023 will be January 17th-22nd in Sagittarius I to Aquarius I for a total of four days and a little over an hour.
The Moon will be out of bounds for the longest amount of time between September 5th-11th in Gemini I to Leo I for a total of five days and seven and a half hours.
In 2023 the Moon will be found out of bounds in: Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Sagittarius, Capricorn, and Aquarius.
The Moon will not be found out of bounds in: Aries, Taurus, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, or Pisces.
In 2023 the North Node will move from 11°45′ Taurus to 21°03′ Aries.
We’re approaching Major Lunar Standstill which occurs January 2025. Because of this, the Moon will continue to gradually go out of bounds earlier and earlier in the zodiac. In January 2023 the Moon will exceed 23°26′ N/S declination by around 6° Gemini/Sagittarius. By December 2023 the Moon will exceed that same declination by 1° Gemini/Sagittarius. In 2024 the Moon will start going out of bounds in the fixed signs of Taurus and Scorpio. This year the Moon will return within bounds between 6°-7° Leo/Aquarius each time.
Whenever the Moon is found in Cancer or Capricorn in 2023, it will always be out of bounds.
All domicile and detriment Moons in 2023 will be out of bounds.
Whenever the Moon is found in Gemini II-III or Sagittarius II-III in 2023, it will always be out of bounds.
In Gemini I and Sagittarius I, the Moon will sometimes be out of bounds. By the end of 2023 the Moon will be out of bounds through the majority of Gemini I/Sagittarius I too.
